Chris Sloan > Cory's Shearwater (8-5-07)
Chris Sloan > Both subspecies of Cory's Shearwater. The top bird is the nominate Mediterranean subspecies diomedea, which is sometimes called Scopoli's Shearwater. The bottom bird is the Atlantic borealis. Scopoli's is a potential split. Scopoli's is slightly smaller, with a slightly smaller darker bill, but the most consistent difference appears to be the white undersides to the outer primaries, which is evident here. (8-5-07)
